Thompson’s are proud to have supplied the finest quality local beef pork and lamb to local family butchers and quality catering butchers for over 50 years.

We have forged working relationships with local farmers who supply us with livestock on a regular basis. All of our stock is carefully selected and sourced from farmers and Marts in the North East of England and North Yorkshire.

As a family business we pride ourselves on our customer service, experience of the meat industry and our flexibility. We appreciate that one size does not fit all and can and do meet individual customers requirements.

PORK

Our pork is produced mainly from prime, medium-sized gilts. These range from 50 to 75Kg dead-weight, the larger ones being ideal for bacon and the smaller ones for pork. We can supply whole carcasses and a range of primal cuts including fores, loins, bellies and legs cut to customers’ requirements.

Mark Bradley’s Welsh cross pork, from the largest herd of Welsh sows in the country, is available at a premium in carcasses and a full range of cuts depending on availability.

Beef

We only produce prime beef from animals under 30 months old.

This is available in carcass quarters, a full range of primal cuts – bone-in or boned from our own cutting plant.

OFFALS

Thompsons offer a full range of offals including liver, kidneys, hearts, tongues, tails and skirts. We produce “fifth quarter” products and supply specialist local and export markets.

We now also stock award-winning black pudding, gammons and a selection of Australian and New Zealand lamb cuts.
